The end of another week...

A Huge Thank you to All of our customers, it has been a busy week, and of course a thank you to our fantastic volunteers!

It has all been go, go, go here. However so has the rain! Been busy doing this weeks window display, I know, leaving it well into the week but better late than never I guess. We have a party evening theme, some wonderful dresses and accesories, and always the highest quality and lowest prices.

Also, only a few weeks left before the sale ends, Prices from 99p! So grab a bargain while you still can.

Been a long week, by it has been worth it , And remember we are always recruiting new volunteers if you find yourself with a spare few hours to fill, Just pop in and ask a team member!

Well for my lovley volunteers, we have cake! Chocolate!

But We also have the begginings of some fab christmas plans on my part!

Two things actually, The idea of a christmas competition, the winner recieves a hamper full of fair trade goodies! Not to be missed, so watch out in early November for details!

A market stall for Oxfam may be set up in the middle of Stowmarket so that is another thing to watch out for, I have been collecting together Young High Street Fashion to sell on the stall, Mostly Winter wear, but some accesories too! This should be really good for promoting and passing trade! We may be giving out cake or sweets to, just to sweeten the deal! And of course our cracking prices and amazing volunteers!

We still have our end of season sale on, So pop in and have a look at that, some bargains for summer clothing to be had, vests are 99p!!

Hopefully this week I am going to have a slight re arange, Feel like tackling the floor space! I will wait untill my energy is at a sugar peak!

The end of my first week

So it is the end of my first week at Oxfam Stowmarket and as I settle down in front of the Paralympics with a nice glass of wine, I have the urge to address my Oxfam loving audience

You may be thinking, But its Thursday, Yes, I am taking a nice long weekend, naughty naughty

However, coming from getting up at lunchtime most days and bumbling around, galavanting off around the country, typical student on Summer leave, going to getting up at 7am every day, well try 8.30am maybe

I have had a wonderfull week, I have even met some volunteers I have never met before, and volunteers that I have repeatadly

Been writing up a new volunteer guide

Apparently it is very comprehensive

So all in all it has been a progressive and good week

Taking on Managerial duties in my stride, I am ever so glad most of the volunteers respect me in my new position, and want to thank them all

I have a nice feeling about this next 12 months!

Paralympics

Good luck to all the athletes competing in the Paralympics over the coming days. It's great to see athletes from 75 of the countries Oxfam works in taking part.

Now I have fiished my second year at Coventry University, Having had a summer of fun, camping and holidays. Now as most students will be preparing to go back to study for another year, I will be getting ready to start my placement at Oxfam Stowmarket. I will be acting Deputy Manager while Co-ordinating the visual Merchndising and promotion side of the Charity Shop. So wish me luck and I will keep all my promo and visual merchandising photos and ideas posted for sharing!

Get Ready for out olympic window display tomorrow, Our Volunteers have been stashing away olympic themed donations over the past few months, combined with coloured balloons, I know I can not wait to arrive at the shop tomorrow and have a view! Thanks to the volunteers who are very dedicated. Watch out for photos of our displays!

Shwopping!

 If you are anything like me and my mother, Serial clothing hoarders, I hide bags under the bed, in other bags and stuffed in my wardrobe. All women are culprits of having too many clothes that we simply do not wear, or even fit into.
Well now you can get something back from being good and dontating to Oxfam. Just Shwop them, with a little help with Marks and Spencer's. Donate unwanted or unused M&S clothing to Oxfam and get a voucher for £5 off when you spend £35 at M&S! Worth having, eh? And if you are not heading towards an Oxfam, M&S will do the leg work for you if you pop it into one of their stores.

Through the partnership with M&S, Oxfam has already been able to raise £8 million to pull people out of poverty around the world.

So im going to encourage all of Oxfams and M&S's customers to carry on donating!
